Introducing theatre to co-operative societies, Ashiyana Karandak brings a theatre competition for citizens of all age groups. The event is scheduled to take place from 17th to 21st January 2018 at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Kothrud. The registrations are open and this will be the third edition of the competition. The Karandak is sponsored by Lokmanya multipupose co-op society Ltd, powered by Patankar Events and driven by BU Bhandari.
Rashmita Shahapurkar who is one of the organizers told Rasa Aur Drama, that," The peers in society should come together and share their ideas and thoughts which will, in turn, unify them with a strong bond, this was the main cause behind organizing such a competition."
In fact, local populace will get a chance to come out of the hustle bustle of the city and spend some quality time. The festival is also headed by Ramesh Patankar of Patankar events who has joined the team. He says, "This is a different kind of an experiment. We are introducing an altogether new concept as compared to any other drama competition. Apart from giving a good platform to the artists, we are also trying to give them professional and qualitative support. To enhance the performance and overall competition we are making the professional guidance available to the participants in directorial and technical stuff. Participants will learn a lot from this effort and it will be a life time experience.
We will also be having a professional three-camera set-up to record the whole event which is another innovative concept we are incorporating." Stalwarts in Theatre like Atul Pethe, Ajay Purkar, Narendra Bhide, Pranit Kulkarni, Vibhvari Deshpande, Rahul Ranade, Chinmayee Sumeet and Pradeep Vaidya will mentor the participants in December. The organizers have decided to accept a total of 30 entries. The last date of form submission is first of December. The prize winners are: 35000, trophy; 25000-second prize, 25000 Third Prize. Other members of the organizing team are: Jitendra Joshi, Priyanka Vaidya, Mandar Walimbe, Yutika Shahpurkar and Nilesh Doiphode.
