SMART: Theatre Management Course Focuses on Building an Industry

In an unprecedented management collaboration in the country, India Theatre Forum, India Foundation for the Arts & Junoon Theatre come together to an open session in Pune on 10th February 2018. The session is designed to make the local theatre groups interact informally with the theatre performance management body. With the sprouting theatre groups and a steady increase in the quality of original theatre, management as a tool to facilitate the performance becomes exceedingly imperative. Added to it the funding source and more. SMART (Strategic Management in the Art of Theatre) recently held a session in New Delhi.

SMART

In 2014, a group of play-makers came together to address the need of a structured course for the management of Theatre Groups in India. The first edition was held in 2015, 2016 (second) and 2017 (third). This year the program reached out to various parts of the country through SMART On Wheels Program (a precursor to SMART Course Programme 2018). The new program outreach has been to cities like Agartala, Bikaner, Patna, Bareily, Mumbai & Delhi as of now. We are now reaching out to the Theatre Groups in Pune.

WHY YOUR GROUP

Theatre companies, institutions or spaces looking to explore a better understanding of managing how you work and run your organizations more effectively. We encourage you to send at least two members of your company to attend the session.
