Marathi film Gulaabi is all set for a thunderous release all over India!

Updated: Nov 20

Directed by Abhyangh Kuvalekar

Synopsis :

The upcoming Marathi movie Gulaabi tells a vibrant, heartwarming story of friendship and self-discovery among three women. Set against the backdrop of Jaipur, also known as the Pink City, the film showcases the emotional journey and personal growth of women from different walks of life who find support in each other while navigating life’s challenges. Directed by Abhyangh Kuvalekar, Gulaabi is about exploring dreams, relationships, and inner strength, capturing how these women embrace their identities and overcome their struggles together.

In a telephonic byte, the renowned director of film Abhyangh Kuvalekar told RAD TIMES on the title and sub-text of the script " Gulaabi the color pink resonates with something that is delicate, something that is very beautiful and yet something that is very strong. It also has a synonymous relevance with women and also with Marathi culture and in the story in the film, there is an angle which is related to the colour pink which is Gulaabi. "

Director Abhyangh Kuvalekar

The film director went on to add " The name Gulaabi does not come from the Pink City where the movie is shot. But, the movie was shot in Jaipur because it is extremely beautiful, it is very artistically done. Yet there is some kind of vacuum inside. There is something that seems to be lost, which is exactly how my three characters in the film look, extremely stunning as women. So Jaipur as a city depicts a vacuum which is three women in my life and that is why the film is shot in Jaipur. "

About friendship, the director added, " The film is about friendship, and celebrating friendship among women, which is a little rare. Men often tend to bond quickly and easily, at different ages and also at different stages of life. Whereas women at times make their family or their work their focus point, don't have many friends, especially of different age groups. So this film talks about friendship at the highest level, deep-rooted friendship. Also, celebrating self-love and self-acceptance. Subtly the film talks about all these things without being preachy. And the audience is going to love it! "
