Once a month perched in the Vimannagar corner of town, a group of musicians, poets, music theoreticians come together and play some songs and brew some poetry, both rustic and global! From local Marathi songs to Ping Floyd, this community wants to let emotions and song-making flow high!
In the last meetup at Nukkad Cafe in Vimannagar, there was an enthusiast who had come to the cafe looking to participate in Stand Up Comedy, but looking at the community of songwriters ;also went on to recite some songs at the Singers and Song Writers Community!
And lo! He also rapped in Marathi! This Singers and Song Writers Meetup session had Nivedita performing her original songs, romantic ones; Rumi-like to the charm of the audience! She also recently participated in competition hosted by a TV channel recently!
Pravin a music teacher, enthusiastically accompanied Nivedita on the guitar and later performed multiple original songs based on themes such as family relationships !
Akul, showcased experimental temperament ! He played a mini mouth blown keyboard and performed in Kannada! There were two Rahul's at the meetup ! Rahul sang a song he wrote for his mother who had passed away some years back.; a touching piece! The other Rahul performed rap numbers!
MK Bajaj, who is an established Gazal writer, recited some of his Gazals! Some of them were already converted to songs by Nivedita and sung by Nivedita! Devaki who is a retired Hindi professor and a music teacher covered some well known Hindi songs!
As Charles Dickens say " It was the best of times, it was the best of times..." it was the best of evenings, it was the best of evenings at the Songwriter's Community hosted by musician Subhrojyoti!
